Abstract: The rapid development of biophotonics has improved our better understanding of the biological world. Smart optical tools, such as optical tweezers and nanoplasmonic optical antennas, have constantly uncovered mysteries and provided new insights throughout cellular systems. Outside the cell, optical tweezers act as a smart light touch, enabling the precise and flexible capture, manipulation, and analysis of single cells and biomolecules. Particular, optical fiber tweezers allow us to form biocompatible and implantable optical components to explore the biological world. Inside of the cell, plasmonic nanoparticles act as smart optical antennas, enabling the exploration of intracellular world. In this talk, I will highlight some recent developments on optical manipulation based on optical fiber tweezers, such as single cell manipulation and analysis, multiple cell assembly, patterning, and formation of biophotonic waveguides. Furthermore, I would like to introduce my recent work using nanoplasmonic optical antennas for cellular exploration, such as quantum biological electron transfer imaging in live cells. 

报告人简介: 
辛洪宝,2011年本科毕业于中山大学光信息科学与技术专业(逸仙班),后在中山大学直博,于2016年获得光学工程专业工学博士。之后在加州大学伯克利分校(访问科学家)和新加坡国立大学(博士后)从事研究工作。其研究方向围绕生物光子学开展,主要包括光捕获与光操控、生物光子器件组装、细胞内部光学探索等。在Nature Reviews Materials, Light: Science & Applications, Nano Letters, ACS Nano, Advanced Functional Materials, Laser & Photonics Reviews, Small等国际学术期刊发表30余篇论文,其中有四篇为封面或内封面文章。获全国光学优秀博士学位论文、南粤科技创新学术论文奖、教育部研究生学术新人奖、博士研究生国家奖学金(连续4年)等。
